We were relieved to hear the Waldo Canyon Fire was finally 100 percent contained this week. Although our Colorado Springs store was in an evacuation area, we’re happy to report our employees and their families are safe.
The Waldo Canyon Fire was the most destructive in Colorado history. Some fast facts about the damage caused by the fire:
- The fire blazed from June 23 until declared fully contained on July 10.
- 18,247 acres, containing 347 homes, were destroyed.
- Most of those homes were valued at more than $110 million, according to an El Paso County assessor.
Our community is very important to us. Our Colorado Springs store will donate 5 percent of its profits from the week of July 15–July 21 to the Pikes Peak Chapter of the American Red Cross. You can also make your own contribution here.
